We understand that making a decision about home care for your loved one is difficult. We hope the following frequently asked questions about home care will help.
What Hours are available?
Home care service is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. We make every effort to ensure your phone call is answered by a live person during business hours, but should you leave a message, your call will be returned the same day. We are available for as much or as little time as you choose, from 2 hours per day to 24 hours.
Are your employees bonded and insured?
Yes. All employees of The Homecare Gals are carefully referenced and must provide a criminal record clearance from the Police Department. We cover all employees with general liability insurance and workers compensation.
Will the same caregiver come each time?
Our goal is to provide continuity of care. We will schedule the same caregiver with a client as long as the client is satisfied and the employee is available. We believe that developing a strong rapport with your caregiver is important in providing a successful homecare experience. You will meet with a Care Manager to develop a care plan and they will check in every two weeks to ensure that the client is happy. The Care Manager will always introduce any new caregiver to the client on the first visit to ensure continuity.
How will I know what services are being provided?
At The Homecare Gals, we have a process in place to assess and understand your loved one's unique situation and recommend a customized care plan for their needs. From your first call, we consider the specific needs of your family. On the initial call, we ask questions to establish a basic needs assessment. After the call, if you would like to proceed, we set up an in-home visit to gather more information and discuss how we can help.
With The Homecare Gals you will always know what services are being provided to your loved one. After our initial meeting, we create a customized care plan and review all recommendations with you to give you a chance to make modifications to the plan.
Our caregivers take detailed notes about their activities after each visit. These notes are kept in your loved ones home and are available for you to review at any time. All activities are also detailed on our itemized invoice.
How Do I know the Care giver you provide will be a match?
Once the Customized Care Plan is reviewed and approved by you, we implement our system of matching caregivers to clients in order to find the best caregiver for your specific needs. Our system takes into account the services requested, your loved one's interests, cultural background, and the personalities of both your loved one and the caregiver.
By learning about your overall scenario, we're better able to provide your loved one with the best caregiver possible.
How are the caregivers supervised?
Each of our caregivers is supervised by a Care Manager, who is always available to take your call. They will also make regular, bi-monthly visits to the home to ensure that your loved one is happy with the care provided.
